A museum of aviation equipment will be created on the basis of the Moscow Aviation Repair Plant in Balashikha, the press service of the city district administration reports.
Within a year and a half, the defense society will finish forming a flight cluster of the museum’s historic aircraft. The plant already has fully restored prototypes of the Mi-1, Mi-4 and Ka-126 helicopters, and the Ka-26 helicopter and the L-29 aircraft were also brought to flight condition. In addition, in cooperation with the Winged Victory Memory Foundation, the I-153 Chaika and I-15 fighters are being repaired and will be brought to flight condition. The museum will also feature 4 aircraft of the First World War: Fokker Dr. I, Fokker D.VII, Sopwith Camel and Avro 504.
Moscow Aviation Repair Plant is a leading enterprise for the repair and maintenance of small aircraft aviation equipment. The plant has more than 30 different engines: from those produced in the period of the 1920s to modern models of the late XX century.
