The Russian venture capital market grew by almost 50% in 2019.
In 2019, venture investors invested $ 520 million in Russian startups, Rubase reports citing data from the Russian Venture Company (RVC). The indicator has risen sharply compared to 2018, when 352 million dollars of investments were recorded.
The number of transactions for the year increased from 684 to 776. In terms of the amount of investments, business angels turned out to be the most active, accounting for 43%; at the same time, 170 transactions and 14 exits were made in the sector. Venture funds invested 42% of the total amount and conducted 473 transactions and 61 exits. The corporation accounts for 15%, 133 transactions and 7 exits.
