Russian restaurateurs plan to close part of their establishments to save businesses during the crisis. On average, market representatives plan to close from 20 to 50% of points.
So, Oleg Podgorny, the general director of the company Shokoladnitsa, also running the Coffee House and Wabi Sabi establishments, says that up to 50% of restaurants and cafes can be closed. Mikhail Goncharov, the founder of the Teremok network, said that he could close up to 30% of points because landlords refuse to make concessions. Tigrus Holding, which includes Osteria Mario, BarBQ cafe and Shvili, says about the possible closure of up to 20% of establishments. Maxim Popov, the founder of the Streat street food market, says that about 20% of project tenants will not survive the crisis.
According to Oleg Podgorny, now some representatives of the industry manage to maintain part of the turnover thanks to the system of take-away and delivery orders. Nevertheless, the situation in the industry may worsen if the state does not resolve the issue of tax holidays and affordable financing - this scenario Podgorny calls the most negative one for the industry.
