The traditional grand-scale military parade of May 9 has been cancelled this year, but the fireworks will remain.
On Victory Day, military aviation parade will take place over Moscow and St. Petersburg, and a 10-minute celebratory gunfire will be displayed at 10 pm. This was reported by RIA Novosti and Interfax.
In addition, a naval parade will be held in St. Petersburg: ships will be traditionally put up on the Neva River, and the Admiralty Orchestra standing on the deck of the monumental ship Aurora will play popular songs from the war years.
The Victory Day parade that annually takes place in Russia on May 9 has been cancelled due to the pandemic situation in 2020. Everything related to the celebration of the anniversary since the victory over the Nazi has been postponed. Until the peak of the pandemic is over, it is dangerous to hold celebrations.
