Ukraine Introduced Sanctions against the Hermitage, Moscow State University and Other Organizations

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree on the imposition of sanctions against a number of museums, public, scientific and educational organizations in Russia.

      According to the decree, restrictions include the blocking of assets, the withdrawal of capital outside Ukraine, the suspension of the fulfillment of economic and financial obligations, the cancellation or suspension of licenses and other permits, the termination of cultural exchanges, scientific cooperation, educational and sports contacts, as well as the cancellation of official visits, meetings and negotiations on the conclusion of contracts or agreements.

      The sanctions included:

          Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan;

          All-Russian Public Organization “Russian Geographical Society”;

          State Hermitage Museum;

          State Museum of Fine Arts A.S. Pushkin;

          Institute of Archeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences;

          Moscow State University;

          Tula State Pedagogical University named after L. N. Tolstoy;

          Institute of the History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences;

          Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences;

          Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve "Naples Scythian" (Simferopol);

          Black Sea Center for Underwater Research (Simferopol);

          Crimean Regional Center for Archaeological Research (Simferopol);

          Research and Production Center "Crimean Archaeological Society" (Simferopol);

          Tauride Archaeological Society (Simferopol);

          Crimean Federal University named after V.I. Vernadsky (Simferopol);

          Institute of Crimean Archeology RAS;

          Scientific and Educational Center for Paleo-Ethnological Research;

          Scientific and Educational Center "Arche" (St. Petersburg);

          Southern Regional Center for Archaeological Research (Krasnodar);

          LLC "Terra";

          NGO “Underwater Cultural Heritage” (Sevastopol);

          charity fund "Demeter";

          Millennium Heritage Charitable Foundation (Simferopol).

      

      The press service of Moscow State University said that sanctions would not affect the work of the university, the university will accept Ukrainian students in accordance with the general rules for admission.
