Aeroflot Group will start to gradually restore transportation volumes in June, the company’s press service said. Earlier, the Federal Air Transport Agency reported that up to three airlines of the Aeroflot group - Aeroflot, Russia and Aurora - received subsidies for losses due to coronavirus.
“After reduced volumes of transportation in April and May, Aeroflot Group begins a gradual restoration of operating activities in June (Pobeda Airlines resumes flights on June 1), initially focusing on the progressive resumption of flights to domestic destinations,” the statement says. The passenger turnover of Aeroflot Group in January-April decreased by 35.4% compared to the same period last year. In April, the passenger turnover of Aeroflot Group decreased by 95.4% compared to April 2019.
Earlier, Russian airports recorded an increase in the number of applications from airlines for flights in June, despite continuing restrictions due to the coronavirus. They plan to take passengers to Russian resorts. So, in June, 295% more flights are planned in Sheremetyevo than in May.
