Matches of the Russian football championship will resume on June 19, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said. It was previously reported that games would begin on June 21. “There is always a great attention to football, especially to our national football championship and hockey. Football will return to our lives from June 19, when the Premier League matches are resumed. Hockey and basketball may return in August-September,” Chernyshenko told reporters.
Recall that all football competitions in Russia were suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. The RFU Executive Committee supported the resumption of the Russian championship from June 21. At first it was assumed that spectators would not be allowed into the stadiums. However, fans can still get into the arena. However, their number will be limited to 10% of the stadium capacity.
