Fuel Spilled near Norilsk Fell into Lake Pyasino

Oil products were found in Lake Pyasino after the accident at the thermal power station and the spill of diesel fuel near Norilsk. It is now important to prevent fuel from entering the Pyasin River, which further goes north.  Lake Pyasino is a reservoir of glacial origin. It collects water from other large lakes located on the Putorana Plateau.

Previously, traces of oil pollution were recorded near the lake.

On May 29, an accident occurred at TPP-3, and about 21 thousand tons of diesel fuel spilled. The accident is declared a federal emergency.
