A large-scale exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the People's Artist of the USSR, Ilya Glazunov, which is celebrated on June 10, was to open in the Moscow Manege exhibition hall in summer. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was postponed.
New dates are not yet known, but it is expected that the exhibition will be held in autumn or winter.
According to the plan, the exposition will reveal the personal qualities of the artist. The exhibition will feature his most famous works, as well as those never displayed to public yet. Along with those the visitors will see artworks by the students of Ilya Glazunov.
The exposition will show him as a public figure, artist, and educator of several generations of artists. It is also planned to show films and chronicles, archival documents and antiquities including icons saved by Ilya Glazunov.
