During the period of crisis and restrictions in Moscow, the volume of e-commerce has grown by 1.5 times compared to the pre-crisis indicators. This was stated by the Deputy Mayor for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Efimov in an interview with Business FM.
He noted that in general, the revenue of the trading sector increased in relation to the previous year, largely due to the development of distance selling. “We see the development of an entire sector of remote services and delivery of goods thanks to these restrictive measures. If we look at the attendance of shopping centers, it has not reached the values of the previous year yet, but at the same time the revenue exceeds the indicators of the last year,” Efimov said.
“This is due to the fact that online trade, small wholesale trade, which is mainly realized through remote delivery, has grown to pre-crisis indicators by more than one and a half times, in some items the growth is 60-65%,” he also noted.
