Russian airlines have the right to refuse admission to the plane to foreigners without a document confirming the absence of the coronavirus COVID-19. On Friday, July 24, the Russian government announced the resumption of flights from August 1 to three countries - Turkey, Great Britain and Tanzania. "In particular, all foreign citizens arriving on the territory of the Russian Federation: <...> may not be allowed on board without a medical document confirming a negative result of the PCR test for COVID-2019 (by the decision of the carrier airline)". The test must be done no earlier than three days prior to arrival in Russia. In the absence of a document confirming a negative test result, foreigners are required to pass the test in Russia within three days.
Russian citizens arriving from abroad will have to fill out a special form on the public services portal when checking in for a flight and post data on the COVID-19 test there. From August 1, Russians will be able to fly to London, Ankara, Istanbul and Zanzibar. Flights to the resort cities of Turkey will open on August 10. Flights to Russia from the listed cities will also start from these dates. According to Transport Minister Yevgeny Dietrich, negotiations on the mutual resumption of air traffic are underway with 30 countries.
