The RIA Novosti agency has compiled a rating of European countries in terms of the availability of gasoline for the population. Luxembourg took the first place, Russia was on the 20th position, between the Czech Republic and Greece. Ukraine closes the list.

When compiling the rating, data from statistics from European countries on prices for AI-95 gasoline by early July 2020 were used. To assess the availability of fuel in various countries, experts calculated the volume of gasoline that residents of European countries can purchase with their average monthly salaries.

Residents of Luxembourg can buy about 3.2 thousand liters of gasoline for their average salary. Residents of Norway - 2.6 thousand liters of fuel. Residents of Austria, Ireland and Great Britain can buy more than 2.3 thousand liters of gasoline. Russians can afford 924 liters of fuel. Residents of Ukraine have the opportunity to purchase only 395 liters, which is eight times less than Luxembourg.

In June, amid restrictive measures introduced to combat the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, wholesale gasoline prices reached historic highs.
