The first tourist groups this season come to the Beringia National Park in Chukotka. Mostly, tourists visiting the national park come from the central regions of the Russian Federation, as well as from Moscow and St. Petersburg. As a rule, Russian tourists spend here about a week.
There will be no foreign tourists in Chukotka this season, since foreign cruise ship calls have been canceled due to the situation with the coronavirus.
Traditionally, the tourist season in the national park falls in late July - early September. Clusters of whales, walrus rookeries, bird colonies, bright colors of the tundra can be observed in the summer by tourists in the national park.
Beringia National Park is the easternmost protected area of Russia, located on the Chukotka Peninsula. The extreme eastern point of Russia - Cape Dezhnev - is located in the park.
