The Mastercard payment system in partnership with the Etiquette platform has launched a non-cash tip service in Russia, according to a message on the company's website. Tipping will be possible with any bank card, as well as through Apple Pay or Google Pay mobile wallets.
The system will be implemented by connecting catering staff to the Etiquette platform. With its help, employees receive a special NFC tag or QR code. The client using his phone, can rate the employee, leave a comment and indicate the amount of tip. Money will be transferred directly to the employee's bank card; no additional action is required.
The service is already used by two Russian restaurant chains - Perelman People and Lucky Group. “More and more people prefer to pay for purchases by cards. A simple and safe way to leave a tip without cash is something that both restaurant guests and restaurateurs expect. We have been preparing this project for a long time and have thought of a convenient service based on Mastercard technologies. And we are glad that with the resumption of the restaurants, we are launching this new product together with our partners,” Anton Shigapov, Director for Development of Mastercard Digital Payments in Russia commented.
