The civil circulation of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine will be launched within a month after the start of post-registration studies, Alexander Gintsburg, director of the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology said. It is planned that the third phase of research will start within a maximum of ten days.
“Civil circulation will be launched in parallel (with post-registration studies - Kommersant), but with a shift, because there is not enough vaccine. This is permitted by the 441st government decree. I think that this will be the maximum shift per month after the start of post-registration studies,” the head of the Center said.
Mr. Gunzburg also said that at the third stage of research, tens of thousands of people will be injected with the Russian vaccine. The financial part is being clarified now, because "it costs a lot of money." Research will be carried out in the Moscow region.
The Russian vaccine Sputnik V was registered for the first time in the world on August 11. The production of the vaccine started on August 15.
