The Interior Ministry has extended the inspection after the hospitalization of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, a TASS source said. Since August 20, Mr. Navalny has been in a coma, on August 22 he was transported from Omsk to the Berlin clinic "Charite". The West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office initiated the check.

"Currently, the verification period has been extended to 30 days, that is, until September 20, a decision will be made based on the results," the agency's interlocutor said.

Earlier, the Ministry of Justice of Germany confirmed that it had received a request from the Prosecutor General of Russia for legal assistance as part of the check on the hospitalization of Alexei Navalny.
