National park "Zyuratkul" in the Chelyabinsk region has opened a new mountain trail.
A new tourist trail was laid in the Zyuratkul national park of the Chelyabinsk region, it will become an alternative route to the popular eco-trail to the mountain range, the press service of the regional Ministry of Economic Development of the region reported on Tuesday.
The trail leads to low but picturesque rocky outcrops of the Maly Moskal ridge, adjacent to Lake Zyuratkul. "On the old timber road, tourists will have to make an easy climb of 500 meters to admire the lake and the Lukash and Nurgush ridges," the message says.
The name "Moskal", according to the most common version, is derived from the Bashkir word "meskei" - "witch". Presumably, wooden idols and prayer stones were located here, near which rituals were carried out.
Stone "warehouses" became a notable point on the new route - once stone was mined here for the construction of a dam on Lake Zyuratkul. Over the decades, they have packed together, forming a bizarre surface.
According to the press service, next year another route will appear in the national park, it will be laid along the shore of the lake. It is suitable for nature lovers who would like to enjoy the local views without climbing the mountains.
For the convenience of guests, benches and gazebos will be installed along the trail.
