The Netherlands will speak out in support of possible anti-Russian sanctions due to the poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom Stef Blok said. Earlier, the Foreign Ministries of France and Germany announced that they would send their partners in the European Union a proposal to impose sanctions.
“We share the conclusion of Germany and France that there is no other plausible explanation for Navalny's poisoning other than Russia's involvement and responsibility. At the next meeting of the European Council, we will support the call for sanctions," Blok wrote on Twitter.
We will remind, Alexei Navalny called on Europe to impose sanctions against oligarchs and the closest circle of Russian President Vladimir Putin. On October 6, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) confirmed the conclusions of the laboratories of France and Germany about the poisoning of the politician. Western countries claim that the oppositionist was poisoned with the poison from the Novichok group. The Russian side denies the version of the poisoning.
