Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny noted that US President Donald Trump refrained from criticizing Russia about his poisoning. He noted that Mr Trump should first of all object to the use of toxic substances.
“Yes, I noticed,” Mr. Navalny said and laughed when a journalist from the American CBS channel drew attention to the fact that Mr. Trump did not condemn Russia. "I think it is extremely important that everyone - including, and perhaps in the first place, the US President - condemns the use of chemical weapons in the 21st century."
In an interview with CBS, Mr. Navalny reiterated that he considers his poisoning with the Novichok group poison not a hypothesis, but a fact. “This is a new type of Novichok. This means that, unfortunately, Putin is developing a new program for the production of these chemical weapons, which is prohibited. Therefore, they deny everything,” he said about Russia's statements of innocence in the incident.
