The Armory in Kremlin presents the exposition «Masterpieces of Old Russian Jewelry of the XII -Early XX Centuries». The collection of the Armory is huge and varied, but, of course, jewelery items by Russian masters take a very special place in it. They are presented in the first two halls, as if to emphasize the priority of the exposition. The first hall contains works from the period of the 12th-17th centuries, which were kept for many years in the tsars' treasury. The second hall holds exhibits, some of which were made by the masters of the Kremlin's Golden and Silver Chambers. Of the regional centers, the workshops of Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ustyug the Great and Nizhny Novgorod stood out especially clearly. Wonderful enamels, boxes, jewelry, figurines and many other items are featured here. The works of Carl Faberge's workshops, including the famous Easter eggs with surprises, are exhibited separately.
