The Mariinsky Theater Joins the World Ballet Day

The Mariinsky Theater will celebrate World Ballet Day online and offline.

      On October 29, the performances will be shown both online and on the Historical Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. This year, the theatre aims at uniting the community of ballet performers and dance fans in these challenging times of the pandemic.

      On Thursday evening, the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg will present the ballet Le Corsaire starring Anastasia Matvienko, Mei Nagakhisa, Andrei Ermakov and Kimin Kim.

      A separate program is planned online: from 1 pm to 2 pm a master class by the head of the ballet troupe, Honored Artist of Russia YuriFateyev, will be streamed.

      From 3 pm to 3.3 pm a rehearsal of the prima ballerina of the Mariinsky Theater,Victoria Tereshkina, will be broadcast (preparation for the ballet "La Bayadère").From 3.3 pm till 5 pm the theater will present a retrospective of the best works of the "Creative Studio of Young Choreographers".

The entire online program will be broadcast in the Mariinsky Theater accounts on Facebook, YouTube and VKontakte.
