Turkey wants to organize the production of the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus Sputnik V at its own facilities, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Health told reporters following the talks between Health Minister Mikhail Murashko and his Turkish counterpart Fakhrettin Koca.
“The parties discussed the situation with the spread of the new coronavirus infection, focusing separately on the development of vaccines for the prevention of COVID-19. The head of the Turkish Ministry of Health expressed interest in organizing the production of the Sputnik V vaccine at the facilities of Turkish pharmaceutical manufacturers after conducting toxicological studies provided for by local legislation,” the ministry said (quoted by TASS).
Also, Mr. Murashko informed his Turkish colleague about his readiness to organize toxicological studies in a certified laboratory. The parties agreed to start implementing the agreements in the coming days, the Ministry of Health added.
