The first serial electric car in Russia is planned to be brought to the market next year. The developers are completing tests of a prototype of the first mass electric vehicle in Russia, Kama-1.
The Competence Center of NTI SPbPU "New Production Technologies" plans that the car will become available to customers in 2021. “We have developed a full-fledged passenger car, a compact crossover 3.4 meters long and 1.7 meters wide. The car has four seats for passengers and a luggage compartment. Kama-1 is focused on the mass market - from individual consumers to car-sharing and delivery services,” Oleg Klyavin, chief designer of the CompMechLab Engineering Center at SPbPU said. The tests are expected to be completed in early December. It is planned to present the car to the public at the VUZPROMEXPO-2020 exhibition, which will be held on December 10-11.
