The French President Emmanuel Macron said Russia and Turkey were contributing to the strengthening of anti-French sentiment in Africa.
According to him, Moscow and Ankara "are playing on postcolonial indignation." “At the same time, there is a strategy that is sometimes followed by African leaders, but mostly used by foreign powers such as Russia or Turkey, playing on post-colonial resentment. Do not be naive about this issue: many of those who write, who shoot videos, who are present in the French-speaking media, are sponsored by Russia or Turkey,” Mr. Macron said in an interview with Jeune Afrique. The head of state believes that the fates of France and African countries are closely intertwined and this cannot be ignored.
