The exhibition features works by 2D and 3D artists who create paintings, sculptures, panels, collages, installations and other works of art in the encaustic technique.
Encaustic is a technique of painting and mix media, where the binder is wax. A huge contribution to the restoration of this technique was made by the Soviet artist V. V. Khvostenko with his daughter Tatyanain 1930-1985. The secrets of the technique were eventually lost.
The exhibition aims at showing the relevance of encaustic in modern painting, acquaint the general public with an undeservedly forgotten achievement of art, as well as popularize encaustic in the professional environment.
During the exhibition, viewers are welcomed to vote for their favorite works and communicate with artists from around the world.
