To date, 1,424 mutations of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 have been detected in Russia, as Anna Popova, head of Rospotrebnadzor, said. British strain was not found in Russia.  At the same time, the operational headquarters decided to close air traffic with Great Britain, as it considers it necessary to "minimize any risks."

According to data announced at a briefing by the World Health Organization, the new strain of coronavirus has a reproductive index of 1.5. This means that for every ten residents infected, there are 15 people to whom the infection was transmitted from them. After reporting a new mutation of the coronavirus, several dozen countries, including Russia, have suspended flights to the UK.
