The large-scale online exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the main design institution of Russia.
2020 marks the centenary of the Higher Art and Technical Workshops (VKhUTEMAS), the main design institute of the early Soviet era, which defined both the visual trends of the era and educational trends in its field.
On the occasion of the round date, the Museum of Moscow has prepared an exhibition about the history of VKhUTEMAS. It includes a huge number of artifacts created in the Workshops: from painting and sculpture to graphic design and furniture. Separate halls are dedicated to the existing faculties of the institute, from production such as textile and printing to architecture, sculpture and painting.
Attention is also paid to individual figures associated with the institute, including Alexander Rodchenko and Lyubov Popova.
