Gazprom and Roscosmos signed a cooperation agreement. It reflects, among other things, the interest of Roscosmos in the creation of spacecraft at the partner's assembly facilities. This was reported by the press service of the gas holding.
At the moment, Gazprom is building a spacecraft assembly plant (SPKA) in the Moscow Region. It is noted that the parties to the agreement are also discussing the issue of the state corporation Roscosmos entering the authorized capital of the project operator, Gazprom SPKA. Also, Roskosmos is ready to use data from Earth remote sensing from the SMOTR-V satellite. It is slated to launch in 2024, according to the company. The apparatus, among other things, will be equipped with technologies for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions. Gazprom will provide the partner with up to 30% of the performance of this spacecraft. The parties are also considering the possibility of using a network of Earth sensing receiving stations. They are part of the Unified Information System created by Roscosmos. The partners are working on the issues of their application to receive data from Gazprom's spacecraft.
SPKA is the first full-cycle enterprise in the history of modern Russia for the assembly and testing of spacecraft. Construction started in November 2019.

SMOTR is a space-based Earth remote sensing system designed to monitor production facilities of the Gazprom Group. In November 2019, an agreement was signed between Gazprom Space Systems and the state corporation Roscosmos on the basic principles of participation in the SPKA project. It reflects the intention of Roscosmos to enter the charter capital of Gazprom SPKA.
