Kaluga handed over the symbol of the all-Russian project "Kaluga - the New Year's capital of Russia 2021", a cosmic snowflake, to Nizhny Novgorod, thus closing the celebrations in the city, an Interfax correspondent reports. Nizhny Novgorod will become the next New Year's capital of Russia.
Its snowflake will be made in a filigree jewelry style. Also, the future New Year's capital will celebrate a major anniversary in the coming year - the 800th anniversary. Celebrations within the framework of the Kaluga - New Year's Capital of Russia 2021 project were held in Kaluga from December 12 to January 9. Eight city sites were identified, where the main New Year events took place. As part of the holiday, the city hosted a gathering of Fathers Frost from all regions, a parade of Fathers Frost, a gastronomic festival, fairs, festivals of street theaters and theater of light and fire. The city was decorated in a retro-futuristic style with a reference to the space achievements of the Soviet era. To help tourists, a network of tourist information points was organized in Kaluga: a visit center of the Kaluga Territory TIC in Gostiny Dvor, a tourist pavilion on Teatralnaya Square, tourist points in the Tsentralny cinema and the Innovative Cultural Center.
