Exhibition «Alla Urban. From Iron to a Drop of Light»

Exhibition «Alla Urban. From Iron to a Drop of Light»

The exhibition presents eleven works by Alla Urban: nine art objects and installations created from 2014
to 2020, as well as two videos.
The exhibition, following the architecture of the hall, falls into two relative levels – the upper, «black and
white», and the lower – «color» ones. The upper level presents works made of paper and cardboard and
a new installation named «The Wave» and formed with white threads that are wrapped with steel rods.
The lower level is based on the collision of monumental works of various configurations of copper, steel,
and aluminum. The imagery of the project is revealed gradually, as in the development of photography,
showing its contours, gradually introducing the drama of installation into our consciousness.
The exhibition at the Tretyakov Gallery is the first big personal project of Alla Urban. It continues the
tradition of monographic exhibitions that represent the transformation of such a classical art form as
      sculpture in modern art.
Where: New Tretyakov Gallery at the address 10, Krymsky Val Street, Moscow.
      When: from JANUARY 16, 2021, to MARCH 7, 2021
