Aeroflot disposes of old Soviet planes

November of the current year is going to be the end of world-famous planes IL-86 exploitation by Aeroflot. Nowadays the company’s air fund has nine planes of this type, but only six of them have been factually used. Igor Desyatnichenko, deputy of the company’s general director, explains that the decision to stop usage of IL-86 planes is based on their low flying capability.
First intentions to dispose of IL-86 refer to year 2002, but that time the planes were decided to be used for charter programs. After Aeroflot has stopped exploitation of IL-86 models, the company will have 72 planes for committing regular flights.
