Poland vetoes negotiations between Russia and the EU

Poland has refused to withdraw veto put on negotiations between Russia and the EU which were aimed at signing a new partnership agreement. Officially Poland is discontent with the ban of Polish meat export to Russia, besides Poland insists that Russia must ratify the Energy Charter.
Russia provides 1/4 of the needed oil and gas resources to Europe: this means that ratifying the Energy Charter is highly important for the EU countries. However, Russia now refuses to ratify the document as the country doesn`t intend to give foreign companies a free access to its own energy market. This is why some pints from the Energy Charter were planned to be included into the partnership agreement.
The Prime Minister of Poland reported about the intentions to block the negotiations beforehand and underlined that he was going to do all his best to make Poland treated as an equal member of the EU.
