The winners of the "Big Book" National Literary Award have been recently announced in the Central Writers' House, Moscow; these are authors who have created their Big Books.
The award's literary academy has found their works worthy of wide public recognition and substantial money rewards.
The 1st prize - Dmitry Bykov for the biography "Pasternak" (3 000 000 roubles);
The 2nd prize - Alexandr Kabakov for the novel "Vse Popravimo" (Everything is reparable) (1 500 000 roubles);
The 3rd prixe - Mikhail Shishkin for the novel "Venerin Volos" (Venus' Hair) (1 000 000 roubles).
The special prize of the festival has been conferred on one of the finalists of Big Book, the poet Naum Korzhavin for his contribution into literature.
The finalists Alexei Ivanov, Lyudmila Ulitskaya and Dmitry Bykov have won the Readers' Choice Award in the course of the on-line voting.
