The 10th film festival "Cinemania. New Cinema of Russia" starts today in Samara city.
      
      New Russian films honoured with various awards of international and home festivals are on the bill of the jubilee festival. Among them are the sensational The Island / Ostrov (2006) by Pavel Lungin, Franz + Polina (2006) by Mikhail Segal, Svobodnoe plavanie / Free Floating (2006) by Boris Khlebnikov, and others.
      
      The program also involves animated cartoons from the project Gora samotsvetov / The Mountain of Jewels enjoyable both for children and adults.
      
      A distinctive feature of this festival is the absence of the traditional jury. The prizes include People's Choice Awards, awards from the press, organizers and sponsors.
      
      The festival runs till November 30.
