The giant tanker “Vladimir Tikhonov”, which belongs to Russian shipping company “Sovcomflot” is listed among world top three ships according its design and technical characteristics, says British specialized magazine “Naval Architect”, which rates ships from all over the world.
      
      “Vladimir Tikhonov”’s carrying capacity is 162 thousand tons, and the ship is 280 m long. The tanker currently is Russia’s biggest ship. The giant ship has double hull, which allows breaking thick ice of seas and oceans. Unlike other giant ships “Vladimir Tikhonov” has quite a small draft, which is perfect for passing shallow channels.
