State traffic inspectorate’s “gift” to drivers

The first deputy of the Minister of internal affairs of Russia Alexander Chekalin has reported that traffic inspectorate officers will express tolerant attitude towards drivers on New Year’s night and January 1. According to Alexander Chekalin, this may be thought of as a New Year gift. However, he clarifies that such attitude can be expected only in case of inconsiderable violations and calls drivers not to lose control.
Chekalin marks that special attention and strictness is going to be drawn to drunk drivers, who cannot expect any indulgences from traffic inspectorate officers even in honour of New Year celebration. Road patrols will notice and punish all drunk drivers according to the law.
