Sochi, one of the Russian resort cities, has announced bid for the right to host 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games and submitted their Candidate`s file to the International Olympic Committee.
      The Candidate`s file of the city is a three volume work with 500 pages, considering all aspects of hosting the future Olympic Games: from the plan of sports constructions and transport schemes to description of opening and closing ceremonies and the sports concept of the Games organization, including detailed projects and drafts of Olympic objects and description of the infrastructure. The document also contains 110 tables and 550 official guarantees of Russian authorities on meeting all their engagements. The most important part of the documents, folder with guarantees, weights over 300 kilograms.
      On the whole, seven cities have submitted Olympic bids: Sochi, Sofia (Bulgaria), Borjomi (Georgia), Salzburg (Austria), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Jaca (Spain), and PyeongChang (South Korea).
