Exhibition of “Trophy Art”

The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow) opens the exhibition “Epoch of the Merovings – Art without Limits” created with participation of Russian and German museums.

The exposition reunites the collections, some exhibits from which were exported to the USSR as war trophies in 1945.

The collections include battle and ceremonial arms, jewelry, and household articles from Western Europe, as well as from the Central and Eastern Europe.

The war trophies will not be returned back to Germany: the exhibition will be shown only in Moscow (March 13 – May 13) and in St. Petersburg Hermitage (June 19 – September 16).
