18 swimming zones to open in Moscow in summer

18 recreation sites for swimming will be available in Moscow in summer along with 44 recreation zones where swimming will be prohibited. In particular, swimming will be allowed in Tikhaya bay, Bolshoi Sadovy and Bolshoi Gorodskoy ponds, Shkolnoye, Beloye, and Chernoye lakes, Istrinskoye pool, and on the beaches “Vodny Stadion”, “Levoberezhny”, Khlebnikovo”, “Troitskoye”, “Gorky”, “Troparevo”, “Meshcherskoye”, “Rublevo”, “Serebryany Bor – 2”, “Serebryany Bor – 3”, and “Khimki – 2”. Officially the swimming season opens on the 1st of June 2007. All recreation sites must be prepared by the 25th of May 2007 and must meet the security, ecological, and sanitary norms.
