Great Britain demands extradition of Lugovoi

The Crown Prosecution Service of the UK has said it is going to ask for Russian entrepreneur Andrey Lugovoi to be extradited. Lugovoi is suspected of murder of Alexander Litvinenko. Director of Public Prosecutions Sir Ken Macdonald has claimed that the evidence provided by the police is sufficient to accuse Lugovoi of the murder of Litvinenko by poisoning. Therefore, Lugovoi should be extradited to the UK in order to face the judgment shortly.
However, no official documents on extradition have been received by the Russian authorities. Anyway, Russia will not extradite Lugovoi, as the Russian Constitution prohibits extradition of Russian citizens to foreign countries. A person charged with a crime committed abroad can be judged in Russia and sentenced according to the legislation of the RF.
