The company Aeroflot-Russian Airlines has sent a proposal for privatization to the Serbian national air transporter JAT Airways. Serbian representatives comment that so far Aeroflot has come up with the most definite suggestion of JAT privatization. The proposal of Aeroflot sent to JAT Airlines promises not to reduce the staff, to settle debts of the Serbian air company, and to renew the company’s transport park with new planes. JAT Airlines offers flights to 38 cities, including flights to European states, and also to Israel, Tunis, Egypt, Syria, and Russia. However, 2005 ended for the air company with a loss of 30 million euros.
