The owner of Chelsea Football Club Roman Abramovich stops its financing. According to the British tabloid Sun, during the closed meeting of the Board of Directors of the club he declared that Chelsea should exist as an independent business and it should care for its profitability on its own. The Russian tycoon will remain the only owner of the club, but he will not take important decisions.
When Abramovich purchased Chelsea, he spent 72 million pounds during the first two months. Since that time the amount has increased up to 250 million, but the financial activity of the multi-millionaire has gradually reduced.
It is expected that the leading players – John Terry and Frank Lampard – will leave the club as a result.
