Two Problems between Russia and Finland wood and WTO

Yesterday the prime-minister of the RF Mikhail Fradkov and his Finish colleague Matti Vanhanen discussed moot points regarding the export of raw wood and the rates on the railway transportation.
The Russian party didnt make concessions to Finland concerning the reduction of export duty on crude wood. This decision will yield losses to the Finnish timber merchants, at the same time it may cause a problem connected with Russia's joining the World Trade Organization. During the negotiations the politicians didnt arrive at a compromise.
According to president of timber industry federation of Finland Anne Brunila, the increase of duty contradicts the preliminary agreement of 2004 between Russia, EU and WTO. Thus, because of wood issue Finland threatens with hampering in the entry of Russia into WTO.
Earlier president of Poland Lech Kaczynski declared that the European Union would blockade the Russia's joining WTO as ban on Polish meat is still valid in Russia.
