Mi-26 to put out fires in Greece

Today Russian airline UTAIR has sent its helicopter to Greece to hot spot forest fire. Its Mi-26TP- firefighting version. Its internal tanks are able to dispense up to 15 000 liters fire retardant. It carries the crew and operating staff. The helicopter is equipped with a special spillway device.
      Mi-26TP has flown from Khanty-Mansijsk and will arrive in Elevsin, near Athens.
      The fire-situation in Greece is rather dangerous. Up to hundred new fire outbreaks have been registered for the last 24 hours.
      UTAIR is the largest helicopter operator in Russia and one of the leaders of helicopter business in the world. It possesses 180 helicopters, among them 26 Mi-26. The UTAIR aircraft work in various regions of the world such as North America and South Africa.
