October 1 determined the destiny of Mstislav Rostropovich and Galina Vishnevskayas fine art collection purchased by the entrepreneur Alisher Usmanov.
      Yesterday the billionaire assigned the exhibits to the newly restored Constantine Palace in Strelna outside St. Petersburg.
      According to the new owner, all the exhibits currently being kept at the Sothebys will be placed in the Constantine Palace, which has no collection of its own yet, by Christmas.
      Alisher Usmanov had bought the vast collection of paintings and decorative and applied art to stop its sale at the Sothebys auction scheduled for September 18, 2007. The 450 pieces of art cost the director of Gasprominvest Holding and the owner of the Kommersant publishing house $ 72 million.
