Train-Transformer to Link Moscow and St. Petersburg

A super-train named Express XXI starts operating on the route Moscow-St. Petersburg in the end of December 2007. The train is noteworthy for giving its passengers an opportunity to turn their compartments into a study, bedroom, or nursery.

All compartments of the new luxury train will have a toilet, shower, individual air conditioning system, TV-set with a plasma screen, and DVD player. Later it is also planned to provide passengers with the Internet.

The train-transformer will consist of four categories of coaches with quadruple compartments, double compartments with vertical arrangement of the racks, and VIP-class coaches.

If a passenger is travelling alone, they can easily turn the compartment into a bedroom or study. If travelling with family, it is possible to transform the lower rack into a double sleeper bed and send the children to sleep on the upper rack.

It is planned that the train will leave Moscow at midnight and arrive to St. Petersburg at 8am in the morning.
