Greek PM Costas Karamanlis is to pay an official visit to Moscow next week, the energy sector in the focus of the talks.
Decenber 17-19 Greek PM is to spend in Mocow at the invitation of the Russian president. December 18 the Russian and Greek sides are hold negotiations on the high level.
Spokesman and Minister of State Theodoros Roussopoulos said that a wide range of bilateral issues will be discussed during the premier's scheduled meetings in Moscow, with special focus on the energy sector, as well as international issues of mutual interest.
Mr. Costas Karamanlis headed the Greek government in 2004. Since the time it is his second official visit to Moscow. The Russian president has paid an official visit to Greece as well.
The energy cooperation between Greece and Russia is developing.
In March this year Russia, Greece and Bulgaria signed an agreement on building an oil pipeline to transfer Russian oil to Southern and Western Europe.
In June this year Greece joined the building the gas pipeline South Stream, via which Southern Europe is to get Russian gas.
