Greece is to purchase a hundred infantry combat vehicles in Russia and hopes to turn Russia into the biggest export market.
During the official visit of the Greek PM Costas Karamanlis to Moscow December 17-19, Greece is to sign the contract for purchasing a hundred infantry combat vehicles in Russia. The sum of the contract is over ?1,2 billion. Greece is the largest customer of Russian armament in Europe and it is the only NATO state which buys armament in Russia.
Greece regards Russia as an attractive trade partner and is ready to export high quality products to Russia. First of all Greece can supply building materials, food (mostly fruit and vegetables), cosmetics, cloths and fur ware.
For the last three years the Greek export to Russia has increased by 75%. The Russia import and the turnover between the two countries have grown as well.
The two countries stand for the further development of the economic relations.
