Today Tony Brenton, the British ambassador in Moscow, was summoned to the Smolenskaya Square.
British Council offices in St Petersburg and Yekaterinburg resumed working on Monday after the New Year break despite a Kremlin order to halt operations for violating international and domestic law since January 1.
‘Today we have opened our office after the winter holidays. Everything is all right up to now. There are some co-workers at the office now’, said Steven Kinnock, the head of British Council in St.Petersburg.
Russian Foreign Minister demanded to halt all out of Moscow offices of the British Council because of its tax status and commercial and business-contact activity.
