Documents of World War II Return to Russia

More than 50 war documents stolen from the Russian War Archive have been brought back to Russia.
Among them, for example, there are orders of Marshal Zhukov and other Soviet commanders. Hundreds of rare documents were lost from the archive in the 1990s. Nothing was known about their lot for a long time. Last autumn, however, some of them were all of a sudden discovered in an auction catalogue in London. On Russias request the lots were removed from the auction.
The investigation confirmed the illegitimacy of their mode of origin and their current owner from the USA quitclaimed his ownership.
Presently it is being investigated how the documents got to the United States. Experts are also trying to find other archive documents stolen from Russia.
